Despite her meticulous planning, Emily's plan for the post-wedding cruise did not turn out as planned. At the close of last week's episode she fell bloody into the ocean, a victim of unexpected gun shot wounds. To refresh on the wedding episode "Exodus", click here.

"Homecoming" begins with the yacht guests being questioned by police. Victoria is argumentative and gruff with the investigators, refusing to answer any questions until she has her lawyer. Lydia lies and tells the police that she was in the state room with Conrad, which he confirms to police. Daniel is in a complete state of shock and remains silent.

Margaux informs the police that she was snapping photos throughout the night on the yacht and hands over all of her memory cards, with the exception of one. The card she keeps contains the photos from the time period when Emily was shot. She and Jack look through the photos on the hidden memory card and learn that Victoria and Daniel were both missing during the shooting.

Having gotten no info from Emily's husband, detectives show up to Grayson Manor to try to get a statement and confirmation of Lydia's whereabouts that night. "Lydia Davis is one step above a call girl," Daniel says spitefully. It seems Daniel has become a much crueler version of himself since shooting Emily, if only as a defense mechanism. He's gruff with detectives with no shred of sadness or concern for Emily's whereabouts. Just then a second detective arrives to inform them Emily's been found. Daniel looks surprised and not the least bit excited.

At Suffolk Hospital, Emily lay unresponsive in a hospital bed. She's receiving blood transfusions after suffering major trauma. Outside Emily's hospital room, Charlotte naively thinks Daniel loves Emily and encourages him that she will recover. She then bluntly tells Daniel that she believes Victoria shot Emily- and that everyone else believes that too. It seems to get Daniel thinking about his own guilt.

Nolan attempts to visit Emily, but is sharply stopped by Victoria who reminds him he has no place as he's not family. Offended, Nolan looks to Patrick to defend him, recalling the promise to one another not to let the women in their lives control them. Victoria is deeply disappointed that Patrick hasn't listened to her advice to stay away from Nolan.

Standing over her hospital bed as she sleeps, Daniel looks onward with a stern look in his eye. Just then, Emily rouses, looking up at him asking him what happened and where she is. With a defensively cautious exterior, he questions her, "you don't remember what happened?" Emily looks around panicky and disorienting begging, "who am I?" The scene ends with a looming dread that something truly terrible has happened to Emily.

Over at Grayson Manor, Victoria finds Lydia sitting in her classic high-backed chair. Lydia and Conrad taunt Victoria indicating that she'll undoubtedly be going to jail for Emily's disappearance.

Nolan and Aiden have set up a system to gain access to all the cameras in the hospital. They work together to sneak Aiden in through a back door after parking an ambulance prepared to sneak Emily out. Just then, Patrick appears in Nolan's seaside home. Unwilling to be thrown off of his collusion with Aiden, he quickly dismisses Patrick. Though it's clear he has deep feelings for Patrick, he tells him off in order to get back to rescuing Emily. Victoria seems alone without an alibi. This is exactly what Emily wanted.

Aiden successfully sneaks into the hospital with the help of Nolan. He is wearing no disguise when he walks into Emily's room and draws the curtain, it seems certain that someone is going to catch him trying to remove Emily. But the person who sounds the alarm is Emily herself. She seems not to recognize him whatsoever, and in a terrified panic afraid he might hurt her pushes the nurse call button. Charlotte and a nurse run in to find the room empty- Aiden has escaped out the window- and Charlotte comforts Emily assuring her it was all a bad dream.

Emily's damage is quite severe- both physiological and physical. Nolan concludes that someone must reach Emily on an emotional and spiritual level to comfort her back to a place where she can regain her memory. Aiden is upset that Emily didn't recognize him at all and Jack refuses to go, frustrating Nolan immensely.

Victoria is happy to see Daniel and tries to tell him she's innocent. He says he knows and admits to her that he shot Emily, and that he doesn't remember what he did with the gun. He pledges to hire a lawyer that evening and turn himself in the following morning.

Laying pale in her hospital gown, Emily seemingly remembers nothing as Charlotte shows her photographs of the wedding on her iPad. Charlotte encourages Em, telling her that she was her source of inspiration and strength, asking where Emily got her strength from. Just then, Em remembers something- her father. Just then Charlotte asks what Em remembers about her father, and she answers, "His name was David- David Clarke."

Knowing that Daniel is on the verge of turning himself in, Victoria goes to see Margaux and is shown the photos of the wedding party on the boat. Margaux tells her she's learned the one person who lied to the police about her whereabouts is Lydia. Victoria uses this information to convince Conrad they must pin the murder on Lydia to save their son's future. He reluctantly agrees.

Charlotte arrives at the Stowaway to tell Jack about Emily's "strange" declaration about her father. Jack asks Charlotte to take him to see Em, explaining that his presence may help jog her memory.

Conrad promises to take care of Lydia however, and tells her to stay right there and not of anything rash. Knowing not to trust him, she quickly vacates the Southfork Inn. Conrad phones Victoria and announces Lydia's on the move. Within hours a manhunt is on for Lydia.

Daniel watches the development on TV as Conrad comes in to guilt trip Daniel about how much he's just cost him. They enter into a fiery argument and Conrad says he's done with Daniel forever.

Patrick shows up to Grayson Manor promising his allegiance to Victoria. She tries to push him away initially but is convinced by his shocking proclamations. He's there to help her enact revenge upon everyone who has deceived her- Emily, Conrad and Nolan. And he goes a step further telling her that Nolan has a safe in his house where he keeps a box with a double infinity symbol on it. He confirms that the pattern matches the tattoo on Emily's wrist.

Aiden meets with a mysterious woman in a parking garage, who had been seen posing as a nurse in a previous scene. We learn she is a doctor who saved Aiden's life in the past and came to find him when she saw news about Emily's injury. She kisses him passionately and pledges that her feelings for him haven't changed.

Charlotte brings Jack to the hospital and introduces Emily to him. She says he's familiar but doesn't remember him. He tells her about knowing her for a very long time and reminds her she is an extremely strong woman. Jack brings her the locket that belonged to Amanda. He apologizes to Emily saying, "I'm sorry…Amanda was Emily Thorne". With that statement, Emily flashes back to the night Amanda died in her arms. Grasping Amanda's chain in her hand she also remembers coming up from the ocean after falling off the yacht's deck. Just then she says, "Daniel", to which Jack retorts "…it's Jack." "Daniel," she asserts again, "Daniel shot me".

This was undeniably one of the best episodes of "Revenge" in a very long time. It's one for the books and is breaking apart Emily's plan at its seams. Next week's preview looks outrageous- particularly as it appears Victoria captures Emily and views the contents of her infinity box, perhaps finally learning her true identity.

Final comment on "Homecoming", the RIP note to Victoria's throne was truly inspired and absolutely deserved. Every wicked queen has her throne.
