Neiman Marcus Next On Hackers' List
Read More: Target Customers getting 10 Percent Off
On Saturday, Neiman Marcus said customers' payment card information was stolen and used over the holidays, according to Daily Beast. However, the company has yet to release the number of customers affected. They have not estimated the total number of affected customers.
Neiman Marcus has not confirmed if this breach is related to the Target breach. But security experts think both security breaches may be a part of the same scam, according to the Boston Globe.
Ginger Reeder, the spokeswoman for Dallas-based Neiman Marcus Group Ltd. said on Saturday that those customers whose cards were affected are being notified. Reeder also said they are working with the Secret Service to find out everything they can about the breach, according to Boston Globe. "We have begun to contain the intrusion and have tank significant steps to further enhance information security," Reeder wrote in an email sent out on Saturday.
With this breach happening so close to the Target breach, experts believe there is an organized group at fault. Maybe our parents were right when they said don't put everything in the internet. But let's hope this group is caught so Neiman Marcus and Target customers can breathe easy.
