Beyoncé

Beyoncé ended 2013 with a bang when she secretly released her amazing new album. Queen B entered the year with a similar explosion. Back in January, she chose this beautiful makeup look to honor President Obama at his Inaugural Ceremony. B stood out with flawless, glowing skin and neutral pink lips and eyes. Add in voluminous waves and emerald jewels, and she was almost the main focus of the event.

Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba looked stunning at the Golden Globe Awards with a bright orange lip that perfectly complemented her coral Oscar de la Renta gown. She made her matte lips the center of attention by keeping the rest of her face toned down and opting for full lashes and romantic, loose curls. With that icy Harry Winston dripping from her neck, simplification was the right route to take.

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington always looks fabulous, and her makeup at the Golden Globe Awards was no exception. Washington accentuated her Cleopatra-inspired bob with a daring, bright lavender eyeshadow for an unexpected pop of color. She kept the rest of the look simple, emphasizing her full pout with her signature nude lip color.

Megan Fox

Megan Fox has been keeping quite a low profile this year, but she did make a big statement on the Golden Globes red carpet. Her porcelein skin looked fresh and illuminated, as she elected for a shimmery, gold eye and peach lip color. The natural beauty needed only minimal makeup to leave a lasting impression.

The (usually demure) actress went outside of her comfort zone for the Met Gala, and the surprising red carpet transformation was a major hit. Her edgy, platinum-blonde chop matched her sexy, dark purple smokey eye and racy Valentino gown seamlessly.

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez was a vision in red at the 2013 ESPY Awards, from her nails, to her lips, to her dress. Her vibrant, glossy lip color was absolutely gorgeous and the optimal shade for her skin tone. Selena paired this bold hue with a dark smokey eye and made sure not to go overboard with her other features.

Scarlett Johansson never makes a mistake on the red carpet. ScarJo caused another stir at the Toronto International Film Festival with her immaculate, eggplant-hued smokey eye and light pink lipstick. Her impeccable, luminous skin completed the alluring look.

Rihanna

Rihanna is known for taking bold chances with her appearance, so who else could pull off this blue lipstick? The Internet went into a frenzy when RiRi sported this fearless look for her River Island collection launch in September. She completed her face with a neutral shadow on the lids and an illuminating highlighter on the cheekbones. Whether you love it or loathe it, you can't fault her for taking the risk.

Kim K always looks flawless, even when she's just going to the gym. But the reality television star outdid herself for her 33rd birthday celebration at Tao in Las Vegas. Her skin was bronzed and highlighted to perfection and absolutely glowing. She chose a natural, peachy lip color and sparkly, golden smokey eye to ensure that she was center stage on her big night.

Mrs. Timberlake made an impact at the Museum of Modern Art Film Benefit in November with this bright, playful turquoise eyeliner on the bottom lash line. Though Biel is usually conservative, she looked incredible with a heavy black line on the eyelid and a natural lip color. So chic!

Taylor Swift

The country superstar proved just how much she has evolved in the past year at the American Music Awards. Her sultry look was created with a gold and dark brown smokey eye and light coral lip. With her bronzed cheekbones and glowing skin, she was a golden goddess.

"The Voice" judge's makeunder is extraordinary. The artist formerly known as "Xtina" hasn't looked this good in years, demonstrating that sometimes less is more. Her shimmery, champagne eyeshadow is subtle and doesn't compete with her rich, orange lips. Soft, bleach-blonde locks polish off the glamorous look.

Jennifer Lawrence (Pinterest @CineLander)

Jennifer Lawrence

"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" actress chose this daring makeup look for the movie's Paris premiere. With matte foundation, dark eyeliner and a wine-colored lip, Jennifer Lawrence rocked each of fall 2013's major beauty trends simultaneously. Her new, sleek pixie cut was the ideal accessory to pull the look together.
