South L.A. Schools On Lockdown Following Armed Robbery, Shooting

UPDATE: Elementary School Still On Lockdown After Nearby Shooting/Robbery

According to LA School Police Department's Twitter account (https://twitter.com/LASPD), the precautionary lockdown for Wadsworth and Miller Elementary School and Wanda Mikes EEC has been lifted.  Schools will resume normal operations.  

The lockdown at Harmony Elementary School has not been lifted.

Three South Los Angeles schools were placed on precautionary lockdown Tuesday morning following an armed robbery and shooting.

The incident took place at 7:25am on Tuesday morning near 41st St. and Avalon Boulevard, less than 2 miles from the USC University Park campus.

The LAPD placed Miller, Harmony, and Wadsworth elementary schools under a precautionary lockdown while authorities search for the suspect, who is described as a black man, 20 to 30 years old, possibly with facial tattoos.
