For years, music has served as the inspiration for art, and vice versa. From Picasso's "Three Musicians" to Alice Cooper's Dali hologram, there is a long-standing feedback system between aural and visual creativity. In this respect, fashion is no different. Dior Homme collaborated with Justice in 2009. This year, Saint Laurent teamed up with Daft Punk. In a similar vein of influence, the elaborate sets at "HARD: Day of the Dead" inspired the Neon Tommy team to create the following looks.

Zeds Dead introduced their set with a vintage, southern-style plantation. The home was lit neon blue from within, with glowing pumpkins set along the bannisters. As the crowd went wild for one of the weekend's first big names, Neon Tommy staffers could not help but dream about southern belles having tea in the mansion. The opening song was relaxed, conjuring images of a lazy Sunday morning, lounging in the house's navy glow.

The color palette for the first outfit consists of a burnt pumpkin, bright navy and pale grey. A ladylike, floral Valentino is paired with orange pops of color. An ASOS necklace fits with the current trend in statement necklaces, without detracting from the outfit's vintage feel.

An ASOS clutch holds lipstick to touch up after sipping on sweet tea. Casadei pumps pull the outfit together. Pair this look with a classic half-updo and lots of hair spray, a la Rachel McAdams. As they say in the south, the higher the hair, the closer to heaven.

The tempo of the set increased dramatically after the first song. Through favorites like "Rude Boy" and "Adrenaline", the duo played against a backdrop of a booming city.

The black and neon green set, reminiscent of a flight simulator, took the audience through a birds' eye tour of the streets and skyscrapers. The cozy sweater/metallic mini skirt combination merges the backwoods, open-air quality of a bird's feather with the sleek modernity of the city. Neon Jeffrey Campbell Litas are perfect for strutting around a metropolis. Feather ear cuffs and rings contrast with the light, fluffy texture of the sweater, making the outfit sleek and chic.

After Zeds Dead had ended their set, the stage was prepared for Alexander Ridha of Boys Noize. Known for his collaborations with Snoop Dogg and Depeche Mode, Ridha has a lot to smile about. The happy face has become a Boys Noize signature and was of no dearth during "Day of the Dead." Happy faces rotated behind the DJ set, amidst a cloud of fog. Animated smiles wearing trench coats floated above the crowd. Neon Tommy paired the Saint Grace Lexi maxi dress with Dr. Marten smiley face combat boots and Linda Farrow X Jeremy Scott sunglasses. The ombre, grey fade of the dress parallels the gradation found in the stage's smoke effects. The flowing fabric creates movement, much like the animated smileys found throughout the performance. Homage to the happy face signature is paid through the fun, funky sunglasses and boots. (Look below to see Boys Noize play at DOTD).

The headliner for the night was Skrillex, an artist known, amongst other things, for his relationship with former-flame Ellie Goulding. "Day of the Dead" guests expected Skrillex to serve up a hefty portion of his radio-smothering bass drops. The artist, however, surprised the crowd with Jamaican influences and fire. Streams of flame shot into the sky, warming up the cool night air. Neon Tommy's final look is inspired by this firey set. A mustard cardigan from Uttam Boutique and forest green McQueen skirt party like Marley. Fire engine red lipstick and a crimson mane heat up the outfit, while strappy heels make the look perfect for work.
