From chambray to cocktail dresses, and even with your favorite sweater, a statement necklace can add to any outfit. Los Angeles bloggers and retailers alike are all about statement necklaces this week, making this item the go-to accessory to throw on with any outfit.

Emily Schuman, blogger at Cupcakes & Cashmere, paired a bright yellow blazer, striped top and jeans with a silver jeweled statement necklace. The neckpiece creates a stacked effect with its layered chains.  

While the outfit on the whole has more of a laid-back feel, the statement necklace brings an element of femininity that brightens the outfit and upgrades the look from basic outfit.

Designer Rachel Zoe, portrayed statement necklaces as the must-have accessory this season in her Zoe Report. The report has statement necklaces in a variety of jewels and metals, showing just how essential this accessory is to your fall wardrobe and beyond.  These shiny pieces make even the plainest T-shirt stand out, and can pull together the glitziest of outfits.  

Blogger, designer, and former reality star Lauren Conrad features an instructive how-to post on her blog.  She pairs a neon, layered statement necklace with a basic button-up.  With solid colors, whether they be dresses or T-shirts, Conrad pairs multi-colored statement necklaces, bringing attention to an otherwise solid item. 

Conrad suggests pairing the art deco statement necklace with basic blacks.  For example, a basic black T-shirt or little black dress would pair well with a geometric statement necklace, or one with a series of shapes and chains.
