According to the Associated Press, the shooting suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Paul Anthony Ciancia.

Ciancia pulled an assault rifle from his bag and opened fire this morning at a security checkpoint in Terminal Three at the Los Angeles International Airport, killing one TSA agent and wounding several others in the vicinity.

The shooting ended when the gunman was wounded in a shootout with police. He is now in custody.

According to CNN's live coverage of the shooting, materials recovered at the scene may sugggest a possible motive for Ciancia's actions, including literature expressing anti-federal government and anti-TSA sentiments.

As of now, police believe Ciancia acted alone.
