Staff Reporter

Every other week, Staff Reporter Jillian Morabito showcases some of the tunes you should be tuning in to. Here are her picks for your new Must Listen Playlist:

“Young Rut” by PAPA

If there’s one artist you should know, it’s PAPA. Yes, all the capitals are necessary. The Los Angeles group is similar to a combination of Bruce Springsteen and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Their overall message revolves around “America, women and insanity.” Who doesn’t admire that? PAPA’s debut album was released in the beginning of October.

“Change Your Life” by Iggy Azalea (feat. T.I.)

The Australian goddess is at it again. She may not have a future as an English teacher (i.e. “Once you go great, you never go good”), but if there is one thing Iggy can do is make an addicting song. The icing on the cake is the music video, which is straight out of a bad “Showgirls” remake. T.I. worked for Rihanna, let’s hope it does the same for Iggy.

“Another Story” by The Head and the Heart

Seattle folk band The Head and the Heart just released their new album “Let’s Be Still” and “Another Story” is a definite highlight that includes relatable lyrics. As the song says, “Everybody feels a little crazy, but we go on living with it.”

“Shiver” by Lucy Rose

“Shiver” is a quaint song that is perfect mellow study music. It's also perfect if you feel like shedding a few tears (watch the video below). Lucy Rose is a budding talent signed to Capitol Records--the English singer’s debut album was released last month. Be sure to check her out if you’re a fan of female singer-songwriters.

“Adia” by Sarah McLachlan

Many only know Sarah McLachlan for sad puppy commercials and Lilith Fair, but the singer had many other essential '90s songs. “Adia” is a song with a beautiful name and describes the feeling of being responsible for others (and possibly battered animals).
