The NFL typically likes to stack Week 1 with marquee matchups (see: Giants vs. Cowboys). But the Week 2 matchups are just as good, if not better. Here are five of the things to look forward to in Week 2 of NFL action:

Manning Bowl, Part III

Are you excited yet? Peyton and Eli will square off for the third time ever this week at MetLife Stadium. The older brother has won both times; Peyton threw for 276 yards and one touchdown in a 26-21 win over the Giants in 2006 and went 20 for 26 with three touchdowns in an easy 38-14 victory over Eli in 2010. Now for the first time as a Bronco, Peyton will face the Giants a week after they fell to Dallas in a turnover heavy affair. Eli threw three interceptions and running back David Wilson fumbled twice. While the Giants looked horribly sloppy, the Broncos looked brilliant in a 49-27 thrashing of the Ravens. Peyton threw for an absurd seven touchdowns and looked totally in synch with new Bronco WR Wes Welker. It would be an impressive rebound win for the Giants and it should be an incredible game.

A Huge NFC West Showdown

The 49ers and Seahawks both have Super Bowl expectations this year. The first step on that road is to try and play all playoff games at home, so this Week 2 matchup could have big implications down the line in terms of who wins the division. Russell Wilson has never lost at home, and Colin Kaepernick looked amazing last week in a 38-24 win over the Packers. Both of these teams have great defenses as well and, in front of a rabid home crowd, it will be interesting to see how aggressive the Seahawks D is. The 49ers were not happy last week with some of the late hits on Kaepernick. Look out for how the 49ers protect their prized young quarterback in a game with huge implications in the NFC West.

The Packers and Redskins Try To Rebound

Both the Packers and Redskins suffered disappointing losses last week. Only one of these squads will be able to rebound this week. RGIII struggled early in the Redskins' loss last week to the Eagles. Now he’ll be facing a defense that got shredded last week by a similarly mobile quarterback in Colin Kaepernick. Aaron Rodgers had to face a tough 49ers defense last week, but this week he will be facing a Washington defense that may be worn out after a short week. Expect the Packers to go deep early and often as they try and stretch the thin Redskin D.

Terrelle Pryor

The Raiders' starting quarterback had a great game against the Colts last week, throwing for a touchdown and 217 yards in a close loss. He also rushed for 112 yards on only 13 attempts. Now he will take his multi-dimensional attack back to Oakland, where the Raiders face one of the worst teams in the league, the Jaguars. Expect another big game on the ground and in the air from the fantasy phenom.

Will the Eagles Keep Up the Pace?

The storyline of Week 1 was the offensive play of the Eagles under new coach Chip Kelly. The Eagles ran at breakneck speed in a 33-27 victory over Washington. Mike Vick threw for 203 yards and two touchdowns and RB Lesean McCoy rushed for 184 yards and a touchdown. Now the Eagles take on the Chargers in their home debut of their new offensive system.
