It's officially over.

After months of speculation, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth called off their engagement and famous four-year relationship. People magazine broke the news today with confirmation by reps for both Cyrus and Hemsworth.

Sources told E! News that the split was "Miley's decision, after coming to grips with Liam being what she believed was less faithful to her."

The two met in 2009 on set of "The Last Song" and got engaged in May 2012, when Cyrus was just 19 years old. Rumors of trouble in the couple's highly publicized relationship surfaced months ago, with Cyrus promoting her upcoming album "Bangerz" and Liam promoting his burgeoning acting career.

They were last spotted together on Aug. 8 in Los Angeles for the red carpet premiere of Hemsworth's latest film, "Paranoia."

Hemsworth reportedly had been getting intimate with "Mad Men" star January Jones, despite denial by his rep. Over the past weekend, rumors gave way to foreshadowing when the singer unfollowed Hemsworth on Twitter.

Now, the former Disney star seems to be embracing the huge success of her music, and her fans have shown their support for her album's release in the coming weeks.
