Kenya Attack: FBI Explores American Involvement

Calling the Nairobi mall attack a "terrible outrage," President Obama offered support and co-operation amidst reports that American citizens may have been involved in the terrorist attack. 

Carried out by al-Shabaab jihadists from Somalia on Saturday, the Westgate shopping mall attack has claimed the lives of 62 people.

The U.S. government says that it has no firm proof that any American citizens took part in the attack, but the FBI is still investigating the participation of al-Shabaab recruits from from Somali communities in the U.S, such as Minnesota and Maine. 

Minneapolis is home to around 32,000 Somalis who have fled the civil war in their home country. 

There are reports that FBI has been in touch with police in Maine investigating the alleged participation of three Americans involved with the al-Qaeda linked group.
