Explosion Claims Three Lives In Paris

An explosion today in the parking garage of a Paris building has killed three people, reports France 24. Also, one person was seriously injured in the blast, and another has disappeared, possibly trapped underneath rubble. The precise cause of the accident, which happened at 3:45pm in the city's tenth arrondissement is unknown, but it is speculated that it was an accident.

Workers were performing repairs on a fuel tank in the building when the explosion occurred. The Mayor of Paris, Bertrand Denaloe, said that an investigation is under way. "The circumstances of this tragedy are not yet determined and the investigation will shed light on this terrible accident," said Denaloe in a statement. The French Interior Minister Manuel Valls arrived on site after 5pm, but declined to comment.
