Colorado Flood Intensifies

The flood water levels in Colorado continue to increase, as rescuers struggle to reach people stuck in their own homes by, according to the National Weather Service, “biblical rainfall amounts.” At least three people have lost their lives, one has disappeared, and hundreds have been driven from their residences. Spokespersons have called for the withdrawal of thousands of Boulder citizens, reported USA Today.
President Obama announced a state of emergency for the area on Thursday night, making federal aid and FEMA available to commence crisis relief. County Sheriff Joe Pelle said, “All the preparation in the world…can’t put people up those canyons while these walls of water are coming down.”
