Flash floods and record rains have spread rapidly throughout predominately northern Colorado cities, such as Boulder, Aurora, and Jamestown, forcing residents to evacuate their homes immediately.

At least three people have been reported dead or missing and the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning. A record number eight inches of rain fell in Boulder, increasing concern among residents.

Earlier on Thursday, Gov. John Hickenlooper told KBCO 97.3 FM the severity of the flooding, "It's a staggering amount of precipitation. Given the drought situation we've had, it's was almost a year's worth of rain."
