An Israeli raid killed three Palestinians and wounded more than a dozen others in the Palestinian refugee camp of Qalandiya, near Ramallah. The attack has prompted Palestinian officials to postpone planned peace talks with Israel in protest of the violence.

Israeli forces were attempting to capture a suspect when hundreds of Palestinians poured into the streets throwing concrete blocks and rocks at them, according to Israeli border police spokesman Shai Hakimi.

The Israeli forces claim that they were acting in self-defense. However, witnesses state that at least two of the victims were bystanders.

Palestinian foreign minister, Riyad al-Maliki has expressed that the incident will without a doubt have an effect on negotiations.

“Israel’s use of excessive and indiscriminate violence and live ammunition in densely populated civilian areas represents a blatant violation of international and humanitarian law,” said Hanan Ashrawi, member of the Palestinian negotiations committee.
