According to The Daily Beast the U.S. is on high alert this week after North Korea has confirmed it plans to test missiles. This news comes after North Korea began suspending access to its industrial factory and setting space for missile testing.

Over the past few weeks North Korea has threatened the U.S. with attacks including threats to its bases in North Korea. However, despite these threats the U.S. has been confident that North Korea will not strike due to its consistent use of power as a fear tactic over the past year.

Yet, North Korea did start moving missiles and it was announced Monday that it was withdrawing all 53,000 workers from the Kaesong Industrial Complex which connects both North and South Korean workers. The removal of the workers could potentially lead to the closing of the plant. 

The New York Times reported Monday that the U.S. has drawn up plans to respond forcefully to any attack but not in a way that will keep them from preventing the further  escalation of war. Dan Pfeiffer, a senior advisor to the President, said in an interview on ABC’s “ This Week”, that North Koreas threats aren’t  unfamiliar and shows “a pattern of behavior we’ve seen from the North Koreans many times.”

Although many have speculated that North Korea's president Kim Jong-un will not follow through with his threats the U.S. is not taking any chances as a potential "missile testing" can highly occur during this week. Due to this the U.S. is planning a response to North Korea that according to the U.K.'s Telegraph will be a tit-for-tat response that if needed would help detour North Korea from additional attacks or war.    

A CNN political ticker reported Monday that 41% of Americans see North Korea as an immediate threat to the U.S.
