Five Noteworthy Spring Perfumes

The transition from winter to spring is perhaps most sudden when it comes to perfumes.  As the weather warms up, spicy florientals and smoky leather scents give way to lighter, brighter compositions.  While there really is no rule that certain perfumes can only be worn at certain times of the year, some fragrances embody one season more than any other. Here are five perfumes worth sniffing this spring:

Jo Malone Earle Grey & Cucumber (Jo Malone)

1. Jo Malone Earl Grey & Cucumber

High tea may not be the first thing that comes to mind in the category of spring fragrances, but Jo Malone’s take on the British tradition makes perfect sense. True to its name, the cologne features notes of bergamot, Earl Grey, and cucumber on a very light base of musk and vanilla.

Like the brand’s other offerings, it’s on the linear side, which makes it perfect for layering over other perfumes for a refreshing lift. Of course, it can also be worn alone.

Burberry Body Tender (Burberry)

2. Burberry Body Tender

Just this month, Burberry launched a new flanker to their previously released 'Body' perfume.  'Body Tender' is a fresher take on the original, with the same soft dry-down but a livelier opening. Described as a sparkling composition of lemon, English rose, and white jasmine, it ticks off all the boxes for a fresh and pretty springtime scent.

3. Tocca

Choose any one of Tocca’s fine fragrances, and chances are it’ll be perfect for the current weather. The brand specializes in perfumes designed to evoke old world romanticism, but the scents themselves are extremely wearable for modern times.

While most of them fall into the category of light and pretty florals, they are unique enough to stand apart from other flower-based options. For the optimal springtime experience, try Bianca, Florence, or Violette.

Hermes Un Jardin sur le Toit (Hermes)

4. Hermes Un Jardin sur le Toit

Have you ever dreamt of having a secret garden? Hermes has you covered with this creation, inspired by their rooftop garden at the Hermes headquarters in Paris. While we can’t all have a hidden oasis in the middle of a bustling city, we can try to imagine it through 'Un Jardin sur le Toit'.

This garden starts off with the scent of apples, and then transitions into a variety of floral, fruity, and green notes. The whole affair is topped off with a tinge of compost. You can’t have a garden without dirt, after all.

5. Bottega Veneta Eau de Parfum

And, last of all, for those who refuse to stray too far from traditional wintry notes, Bottega Veneta’s sole fragrance is a study in leather softened by florals.

As leather fragrances go, this one is on the refined side, and quiet enough to wear during the day. With hints of bergamot, jasmine, and oak moss, it evokes the very beginning of spring, before the flowers have begun to fully bloom.
