With just one day left until the red carpet is rolled out, the excitement over the future Oscar results can be felt everywhere. The 85th Academy Awards, which will be presented on February 24th, generate a great deal of buzz as the crown jewel of the awards season. However, as intrigued people are about what nominees go home the winners of movie greatness, the anticipation of who (and more importantly what) will grace the red carpet is almost of equal importance. What one wears to the Oscars can be more memorable than winning an award in many cases, so to commemorate the all-time best dressed, here is our top ten list of true style Oscar winners.

Mila Kunis, 2011

The only way to describe this dress is breathtaking. Kunis floated across the red carpet in a spectacular Elie Saab lavender chiffon gown, tiered with a revealing lace detail and complemented by equally delicate silver jewelry. The overall look was stunning, and despite the suggestive peek-a-boo style, this actress pulled off a potentially scandalous dress in an incredibly tasteful way.

Penelope Cruz, 2007

Sweeping the red carpet in 2007, Penelope Cruz rocked this Atelier Versace frock with its form-fitting bodice and feathered train in a stunning nude pink. Cruz accessorized the princess-worthy gown with a simple ballet bun and matching clutch, creating an incredibly polished look.

Amy Adams, 2008

No one can pull off green quite as effortlessly as Amy Adams. Maybe it’s her matching emerald green eyes or red hair, but at the 2008 Oscars this starlet graced the red carpet in a green strapless Proenza Schouler dress that seemed made for her. The gown’s gorgeous sweetheart neckline and fitted bodice complemented Adams in every way possible.

Katherine Heigl, 2008

Heigl must have been channeling Marilyn Monroe herself at the 2008 Oscars as her Escada red bombshell dress stood out even on the red carpet. Heigl’s matching red lips and wavy blonde bob captured the image of Old Hollywood glamour in a modern one-shoulder cutout dress.

Jennifer Aniston, 2006

In a black form-fitting Rochas gown, Jennifer Aniston’s 2006 Oscars look was both flattering and timeless. Her vintage platinum-and-diamond Bulgari necklace was the perfect pairing for the simple tank gown and added just the right amount of sparkle to this ensemble.

Beyonce, 2005

The queen of divas and show-stopping grace, Beyonce certainly brought the classic black gown to a whole new level back in 2005. Her velvet Versace gown turned heads as it showed off her curves, and almost overshadowed her three Oscar-nominated song performances that night.

Keira Knightley, 2006

A wine-colored, taffeta, one-shouldered, mermaid trained dress sounds questionable on paper, but Keira Knightley’s 2006 Vera Wang gown conquered any concerns about the risky idea. The gorgeous dress was later donated to Oxfam where it raised $7,900 for charity.

Cameron Diaz, 2011

As beautiful as the golden statuettes handed out that evening, Cameron Diaz brought Hollywood glamour to her Oscar de la Renta bejeweled gown back in 2011. This intricately detailed dress could arguably be its own piece of artwork and Diaz definitely did it justice on the red carpet.

Anne Hathaway, 2009

Forever chic, Anne Hathaway looked exquisite in her shimmering Giorgio Armani Privé gown in 2009. The curve-hugging champagne dress lit up the red carpet as its paillettes and Swarovski crystals reflected the spotlight and made Hathaway’s entrance absolutely mesmerizing.

Gywneth Paltrow, 1996

While the Oscars are all about making a statement, no one remembers the 90s as a decade of fashionable ones. When so many people were trying so hard by wearing outrageous trends, Gywenth Paltrow managed to make her mark on the 90s with a simply beautiful Calvin Klein slip dress in 1996. This light pink charmeuse dress was both flattering and iconic as the young actress sported this elegant and chic gown.
