The U.N. Security Council has condemned the Syrian mortar attack on Turkey that killed five people on Thursday, according to Reuters.

They demanded that "such violations of international law stop immediately and are not repeated."

No surprise there.

But what about how Turkey said today that they do not want war with Syria, despite allowing increased military flexibility against the war-torn country.

According to analysis by Michael Koplow, the Turkish government must appear strong while playing it safe.

"What I expect will happen is another round of strong condemnations, more strident threats to intervene in Syria, mobilizing tanks, artillery, planes, and troops to the border…and ultimately Turkey will stay on its own side of the line," he said.
