The late Senator Arlen Spector's legacy of controversy, a new sonic skyday record and Endeavour's cushy retirement. Here's a peek at the stories to watch develop over the week.

Senator Arlen Spector passed away at the age of 82 Sunday. His reputation as a fierce indpendent as well as one willing to cross the aisle will be part of the unpacking of the legacy of a man who grilled Anita Hill and put forth a single-bullet theory on the assasination of JFK.

Felix Baumgartner completed a succesful 24-mile free fall from a balloon over the New Mexico desert. The Austrian daredevil reached speeds so fast, he broke the sound barrier, becoming the first person to do so without a craft. Red Bull, the event sponsor, said the extreme sports feat was more than spectacle- it was scientific research.

The shuttle Endeavour arrived at its final home at the California Science Center on Sunday. The 17-hour crawl was a short distance for the space craft but Angelenos turned out in force to celebrate the city's latest landmark.
