After being accused by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) that he hasn't paid taxes in 10 years, presidential hopeful Mitt Romney told reporters on Friday that Reid should reveal his sources before making any further accusations.

According to CBS:
"Harry Reid really has to put up or shut up," Romney said following a speech in North Las Vegas, repeating a line he used Thursday in response to Reid's insistence that he has it from an anonymous but "extremely credible" source that Romney's been using his wealth to sidestep having to pay taxes for the past decade. "So Harry, who are your sources?"

Romney stressed that he did pay "a lot of taxes." He also speculated that Reid's sources were linked to President Obama's re-election campaign. According to Reuters, President Obama's re-election campaign team has not stopped requesting Romney to release more than two years' worth of information.

Romney also said Reid's accusation could have been a ploy to distract from "the Senate's failure to pass a budget in three years" or from disappointing July job numbers. While President Obama viewed the increase of 163,000 jobs as a promising sign that the economy is starting to rebound, Romney called the rise in the unemployment rate "“another hammer blow to the struggling middle-class families in America," reported The San Francisco Chronicle.

Meanwhile, Romney's campaign has been focused on how to convince voters that Romney's policies will not help the rich at the expense of the middle class. Ironically, the timing could not have been worse for Romney when adult film star Jenna Jameson announced on Thursday evening at a San Francisco gentleman's club that Romney is her guy.

"I'm very looking forward to a Republican being back in office," Jameson told a KCBS-TV reporter, champagne in hand, according to New York Daily News. "When you're rich, you want a Republican in office."

Jameson's political opinions have crossed sides since her endorsement of Bill Clinton, stating that "Democrats are better for the porn industry than Republicans."
