• Syrian Arab Red Crescent ambulances are moving them from the suburb of Baba Amr, which has been under heavy attack, after negotiations earlier in the day.

• Injured journalists are among those awaiting rescue, but the International Committee of the Red Cross says it wants to evacuate all those in need.

According to The Wall Street Journal:

• The humanitarian convoy "is continuing to negotiate with both the Syrian authority and the opposition to evacuate all people in need of assistance," said Saleh Dabbakeh, a Damascus-based spokesman for the International Committee of the Red Cross.
  

• It was unclear whether the humanitarian agencies had received any protection. So far, only Syrian nationals have been evacuated, said Mr. Dabbakeh.

Earlier Friday, nearly 70 foreign diplomats and aid organizations met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad at the Tunisian capital in what is being called the "Friends of Syria" meeting.  Diplomats and officials have stepped in after the Syrian government prevented humanitarian aid from reaching its residents during its "crackdown" of the uprising against the Syrian government that began nearly one year ago.

Over 5,000 people have been killed in Syria since the uprising began.  The UN is currently investigating the tactics used by the Syrian president and other officials, which may be deemed as crimes against humanity.
