Fresh off the éclat of his spring/summer 2012 collection show, French fashion designer Louis Vuitton has confirmed that he would launch a new fragrance (an official release date is unknown). The designer has hired Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, who will leave his current job at the Swiss fragrances supplier, Firmenich, for the new coveted role.

"Joining Louis Vuitton is an honour and a pleasure," Cavallier-Belletrud explained to Vogue UK. "It is a unique and particularly exciting adventure, all the more so as I share the Maison's values: respect for expertise, craftsmanship and the choice of the finest materials. The Maison's Heritage is also an inexhaustible source of inspiration."

Another prominent fragrance virtuoso to be on board is Marc Jacobs, who is the creative art director of Louis Vuitton. With Jacob’s own fragrances Lola, Daisy, and Bang the new LV fragrance is sure to be scent-sational.

The much-anticipated fragrance will be sold exclusively to the 461 Louis Vuitton boutiques worldwide.

For now, Louis Vuitton has not given any more information about his upcoming fragrance. What kind of scent do you think it will be?
