The former Libyan dictator is dead.

Mahmoud Jibril, chairman of the National Transitional Council executive board believes elections, “should be within a period of eight months, maximum,” according to CNN.

The first vote will be for a National Congress that will plan on drafting a constitution. Soon after, parliament and presidential elections will begin.  

The death of Gaddafi on Thursday has allowed such political liberation to occur.  Nonetheless, some are still questioning how Gaddafi’s life ultimately came to an end. 

The United Nations human rights office and activist groups such as Amnesty have called for an investigation into his death and do not necessarily support the possible “mob justice” that may have occurred. 

CTV Middle East Bureau Chief Martin Seemungal said, "There are concerns, certainly from overseas, about how he [Gaddafi] came to his end. The official line is that he was caught in a crossfire." 

He went on the say most people in the country are less concerned about the way he died, but more excited about the fact that he is gone and no longer a dictator. 

Gaddafi’s body continued to be displayed Saturday. A large group of people were lined up to view the corpse, which some witnesses claim to have a bullet hole on the left temple according to CNN.
