A spokesman for Texas Gov. Rick Perry's campaign told the USA Today Tuesday afternoon that Perry will make it to Wednesday's Republican presidential debate in California.

Perry had said Tuesday morning on a national television appearance that the wildfires that have roared through Texas might force him to remain behind to take care of things there.
