One Georgia receiver in. One Georgia receiver out.

It appears redshirt sophomore Brice Butler, from Norcross, Ga., plans to transfer just days after McDonough, Ga., native Markeith Ambles, a freshman, rejoined the Trojans football team.

Wednesday night, Butler (@USCNumber19) tweeted:

"Always will be a part of trojan nation! No regrets, I just gotta go play fball, which isn't happening here... I love all yall! Always will"

He later followed with this tweet:

"Was not an easy decision but evaluatin my future and what I want to do, it woulda been difficult here at this point so I made my dec"

The son of former Atlanta Falcons corner back Bobby Butler, Brice confirmed his decision in a text message to ESPNLosAngeles.com's Pedro Moura.

“I’m leaving because I want to play football in the NFL and a big key to that is playing in college," Butler texted. "And I feel that after this season that would be a tough task staying here.”

Coming off a 20-reception, 292-yard redshirt freshman campaign that saw him score twice, Butler entered fall camp as a likely starter at No. 2 receiver opposite senior Ronald Johnson.

However, Butler was overshadowed by freshman All-American Robert Woods and slipped down the depth chart behind senior David Ausberry and redshirt junior Brandon Carswell. He finished the season with only nine catches for 112 yards and one touchdown.

Though Johnson and Ausberry will be gone, Ambles and fellow five-star freshman receiver Kyle Prater, who redshirted, could potentially emerge as go-to threats. USC also has verbal commitments from recruits George Farmer and Victor Blackwell at the receiver position.
