Why Did Prop 19 Crash And Burn?

California residents voted against Proposition 19, which would have legalized the recreational use, on Tuesday by a 54 percent to 46 percent margin.

Though the initiative never gained much steam, it was well known nationwide as what happened in California could lead the way for legalization in other states.
