With fall quickly coming to an end and colder weather beginning to set in, it’s time to warm things up a bit wardrobe wise for the winter. From booties to tailored coats, designers like Marc Jacobs, Derek Lam, and DKNY put a chic, eye-catching spin on everyday wardrobe staples.

Whether you’re going out on a lunch date or a night on the town, it’s important to have fun with this season’s trends, and most importantly, to add your own element of personal flair to each outfit.

In addition to the new winter styles, don’t be afraid to experiment with different accessories. Add a printed scarf, layered necklace, or braided belt to add the cherry on top of a perfect outfit.

No matter what your fashion mantra may be this season, be sure to make it unique. Start searching for some of these new trends in your favorite stores and putting together a wonderful, winter wardrobe.

Booties

Booties are all the rage this winter. Designers like Derek Lam and Thakoon Panichgul showed off the versatility of the bootie on the runway this season, pairing it with everything from thick, thigh-high socks to oversized leather coats. Dress them up with a short dress, tights, and blazer or wear them casually with some jeans and a sweater.

Urban Outfitters carries a wide variety of booties for any occasion, including heeled, flat, printed, wedged, laced-up, metallic, suede, buckled, and several other styles.

Textured Stockings

Textured stockings are really shaping things up this winter. From floral patterns to geometric shapes, stockings are a fun way to turn the volume up on a plain outfit. Designers Rodarte and Proenza Schouler took the textured stocking to another level on the runway, pairing them with funky printed skirts and fur-collared coats. For an everyday look, sport them with a dress, cardigan, scarf and beret, and you’re good to go.

Whether you’re looking for some eye-catching tights, or just some simple stockings to add a subtle hint of pizzazz to your wardrobe, Anthropologie has a great selection of textured stockings.

Tailored Coat

Sport a more sophisticated look this winter by adding a tailored coat to the top of your “must-have” list. Designers Marc Jacobs and DKNY brought the tailored coat to the runway this season in very different fashions. Marc Jacobs’ interpretation of the coat was longer, and more business-like, while DKNY’s was more casual and paired with a shirt and some shorts. Dress the coat up with a pencil skirt and a button down, or wear it casually with a dress and some tights.

If you’re willing to splurge, Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters carry some very intricate, detailed styles of coats. If you’re looking for a wider variety of colored coats, Forever 21 carries almost every color you could ever want.

Neutral Colors

Tone it down this season by adding light, soft colors to your wardrobe. Pastels and neutral tones are very popular this winter. Designers Marc Jacobs and Rodarte flooded the runway with a modest, more muted palette, adorning their models in peaches, pinks, tans, and creams. Bring out the warmth of this cold season by highlighting a dark outfit with some lighter-colored accents.

Any of your favorite stores are bound to carry some softer colors in their winter wardrobes this season. If you’re a person who loves to dress in black, be sure to add some color to your ensemble with colored hats, gloves, and scarves.

Fur

Add some spunk to your winter outfits by fluffing things up a bit. Fur coats, vests, boots, hats, and scarves caused quite a roar on the runway this season. Ralph Lauren and Oscar de la Renta added some intensity to their winter styles by accenting their outfits with a dash of fur. Don’t be afraid to experiment with fur in your wardrobe and create a more edgy look.

If you’re looking for some fur accents to mildly enhance your wardrobe, try Forever 21. They carry everything from fur hats to vests, and even fur skirts. If you want to experiment with a full fur coat or boots, then Urban Outfitters is the place for you.
