On Wednesday, Netflix announced that it would be producing a new show based on the creepy "A Series of Unfortunate Events" book series.

Written by Lemony Snicket (pen name of author Daniel Handler), "A Series of Unfortunate Events" focuses on the adventures of Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire, three children who, after the death of their parents in a house fire, are placed in the care of Count Olaf, a distant relative who attempts to steal their inheritance.

The books were previously brought to life in 2004 with a movie of the same name starring Jim Carrey as Count Olaf. However, there's been no word on whether any of the film cast will be reprising their role for the Netflix series.
