1. Marcus Mariota, Quarterback, Junior, Oregon Ducks: 2780 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, 67.1 completion percentage, 524 rushing yards, 8 touchdowns

Mariota and the Ducks were on a bye this week after his four-touchdown performance against Utah. The nation’s most prolific passer, boasting a 184.6 passer efficiency rating, will look to feast on the Colorado Buffaloes' suspect defense this weekend.

2. Melvin Gordon, Running Back, Junior, Wisconsin Badgers: 1909 rushing yards, 8.6 yards per carry, 23 touchdowns

Melvin Gordon became a legend in Saturday’s record-breaking performance, rushing for 408 rushing yards against Nebraska. Gordon’s play was poetry in motion in the Badgers’ blowout where he broke single-game college football rushing record set by LaDainian Tomlinson in 1999. Gordon, college football’s most consistent player, has cemented a trip to New York as a Heisman finalist, and will have opportunities against Iowa, Minnesota and potentially Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship to prove he is the best player in college football.

3. Amari Cooper, Wide Receiver, Junior, Alabama Crimson Tide: 87 receptions, 1303 receiving yards, 11 touchdowns

Cooper was dynamic in Alabama’s 25-20 victory over Mississippi State, catching eight passes for 88 yards and one touchdown. The catalyst for Alabama’s offense is the only player from the SEC in the Heisman race, and will showcase his game-breaking ability this Saturday against Western Carolina.

4. Trevone Boykin, Quarterback, Junior, TCU Horned Frogs: 3021 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, 5 interceptions, 548 rushing yards, 7 rushing touchdowns

Boykin was on point in Saturday’s closely contest victory against Kansas. The junior signal caller had a 72% completion percentage and passed for 330 yards. A Thanksgiving showdown against Texas will provide Boykin with one last primetime opportunity to impress Heisman voters.

5. J.T. Barrett, Quarterback, Freshman, Ohio State Buckeyes: 2356 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, 8 interceptions, 771 rushing yards, 9 touchdowns

Barrett crashed the Heisman conversation this week after his 389 total yard performance—189 on the ground—four-touchdown performance in Ohio State’s 31-24 victory over Minnesota. The dual-threat quarterback has the Buckeyes square in the mix for the college football playoff.
