The 90s were jam-packed with awesome fashion, and these trends should have never gone out of style. But, at least we can steal from the past and make it work today. Here is a breakdown of the five 90s fashion trends that should have never left the runways or our closets.

Denim Jackets

See you can look gorgeous in a denim jacket. Whether it's cold or warm, jean jackets can complement any outfit. With winter coming, you can throw on a colorful knitted scarf, beanie, jean jacket and you're ready to go. Just a word of advice: don't pull a Britney and Justin, and go completely denim.

Grungy Plaid

All you have to do to achieve this look is roll out of bed, throw on an oversized plaid shirt and put on some red lipstck. Doesn't that sound like the perfect style choice for those unbearable 8 a.m. classes? Honestly, there isn’t a reason why this style shouldn’t come back.

Scrunchies

Before you jump and say “no way” to this hair accessory, hear me out. From basic colors to crazy designs, scrunchies are a fun way to bring some color to a drab outfit.

Fuzzy Sweaters

These sweaters are like blankets that you can wear to school, except much more stylish. Sweaters are perfect for those chilly California days when you just want to curl up with some hot cocoa. Fuzzy sweaters have their own girlish charm, and they can be paired with from anything from jeans to skirts. While you are at it, wear some fuzzy socks too.

Plaid Skirts

Who could forget Alicia Silverstone’s preppy-plaid outfits in "Clueless"? It should basically be a requirement that all girls have cute, plaid skirts in their closets. If you don’t want to go the Silverstone preppy route, you can always take more of the rock 'n’ roller look. To sum it up, plaid skirts are a must.
