Chemistry Nobel Prize Awarded

The Nobel Prize for chemistry was awarded to three scientists on Wednesday for their work developing new methods of microscopy that allow researchers to see biological processes on the molecular level.

Eric Betzig, an American researcher at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute's Janelia Research Campus,  William Moerner of Stanford University, and Stefan Hell, director at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Germany, recieved the prize for pioneering methods in the field of nanoscopy. 

The Nobel Prize winners in literature and economics will be announced Thursday and Monday. The Nobel Peace Prize winner will be announced Friday.The prizes will be given out on Dec. 10.
