A Wisconsin court charged two 12-year-old Wisconsin girls on Monday morning with stabbing their 12-year-old friend in an attempt to appease a fictional demonic creature, according to ABC News.

Waukesha residents Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier discovered the internet meme Slender Man on a website featuring horror stories and wanted to become “proxies of Slender Man” by “killing someone”, according to WTMJ.

CBS News reports that Geyser and Weier planned the victim’s death many months in advance and finally lured the victim over to an area in the woods on Saturday where they stabbed her 19 times.

Geyser and Weier were charged as adults for first-degree homicide and could be looking at 60 years in prison if they are convicted, according to The Huffington Post.

The Slender Man internet meme was created in 2009 and is portrayed as a blank-faced lanky man wearing a suit. Geyser and Weier are currently being held on $500,000 bail, according to The Huffington Post.
