United Artists Theater Re-opens on Valentine’s Day

The theater is now part of the Ace Hotel in downtown L.A.
Built in 1927 by maverick film studio, the theater has a Spanish Gothic style.
Roman Alonso, the principal of Commune Design, said that the theater was in good condition when the company first took a look at it after Ace Hotel partnered with them to renovate the old United Artists Building.
The original murals and plasterwork were restored. The renovation team replaced the old seats’ cushions and carpet.
The theater has a 2300 square feet lobby space and 1600 seats. It will hold events, such as concerts, premieres, and private screenings after Feb. 2014, according to the Ace Hotel team.
Ticket information can be found at Ace Hotel Website.
