Pinkberry Co-Founder Convicted Of Assault

Young Lee, 48, was driving in Hollywood when a panhandler exposed his tattoo of a stick-figure couple having sex to the passengers in Lee’s car, including Lee’s fiancée. Lee took offense and began arguing with the man, Donald Bolding, before driving off, NBC Los Angeles reports.
Lee parked his car and returned with another man to beat Bolding, who suffered a broken arm and injuries to the head. Though witnesses gave Lee’s license plate number to police at the time of the attack, he was not arrested until January 2012, after returning from a business trip to England and Korea.
Lee, an architect and former kickboxer, opened the first Pinkberry in West Hollywood with Shelly Hwang in 2005. The shop ignited a frozen yogurt craze in southern California, and has since expanded its business to more than 150 stores worldwide. At the time of Lee’s arrest, the company released a statement indicating that it had cut ties with its co-founder several years prior. According to the Huffington Post, Lee has previous charges related to firearms and possession of narcotics.
Lee faces up to seven years in prison. He will be sentenced in January 2014.
