Miranda Kerr Allegedly Alters Instagram Pictures

Paparazzi snapped a shot of Kerr and two other models at the Victoria's Secret fashion show on November 16th. A version of this photo showing Kerr with a noticeably slimmer waist was uploaded to her Instagram account.
When fans picked up on the obvious Photoshop job, Kerr was quick to defend herself. The Aussie model took down her first post and replaced it with the original picture, adding the following heartfelt caption:

Though her apology seems sincere, this doesn't appear to be Kerr's first offense. In many of her other Instagram pictures, Kerr looks much smaller than she looks in the average paparazzi photo.
On the 13th, Kerr posted a picture of her and designer Michael Kors on the red carpet for an Elle Japan fashion event. Kerr looked fabulous in a long black-and-white gown. Evidence of editing is apparent in this photo as well; Kerr looked noticeably skinner in her Instagram post, in comparison to the unedited version.
With an already slim model like Miranda Kerr allegedly permitting these edits on her pictures, one can see why such a skewed perception of beauty exists. Kerr's scandal epitomizes the unreasonable standard of beauty that America is notorious for encouraging. Popular American stores like Brandy Melville sell clothing on a "one size fits all" basis, which actually only fits women who range from sizes 0-4. This is unacceptable when the average American woman is a size 14.
Kerr, who is not a size 14, but an equally healthy size 2, has no reason to alter her pictures.
Even if the young model was "unaware" that she was posting digitally altered pictures, the Instagram account is still under her name. Kerr needs to have a better screening process for what is allowed to be uploaded, and what is not. Otherwise, it looks as if she endorses these unnecessary edits.
