We all know Abigail Breslin (aka Little Miss Sunshine") as the sweet little girl that was a celebrity before she turned seven. Now, E! News reports the star is all grown up and dating 25-year-old Jack Barakat.  

Yes, he is the guitarist of All Time Low and a bit of a bad boy (take a look at his Instagram), but can the new couple overcome the age difference in Hollywood?   

The pair, who met last spring at one of his concerts, attended the “Ender’s Game” premiere together. Reportedly, Breslin was spending time between her younger pals and the “adult section” of the premiere.

Barakat has even visited Breslin on the set of her new movie, “Maggie.” 

Breslin currently not the only young actress dating a much older man.  

Dakota Fanning, 19, debuted her 32-year-old model boyfriend, Jamie Strachan, in September. 

Fanning told Glamour back in March: “I don’t really date. I have a weird vision of relationships because my parents have known each other since second grade, and they got married right out of college. I've always thought that's what it's supposed to be like, and if it's not, then I don't want to waste my time on it. Even when I was 14, I was like, ‘I'm not gonna marry this person. What's the point of doing it?' It's not me being naive. I just know what it's supposed to be like. And I think until I feel that, I cannot be bothered."

Dating for Fanning, therefore, is a rare occurrence. Strachan must be more than just easy on the eyes.

Lastly, let us not forget another former child star Mary-Kate Olsen who is dating Oliver Sarkozy, a man seventeen years older than her. The 27-year-old and 44-year-old French banker have been dating since last year.

Is dating significantly older men a trend for this current generation of child stars? 

Many will point out that Hollywood and “the business” forces ont to grow up quicker than other "normal" children. Does this then give these women the excuse to date men that are of significant age difference? Or is age truly just a number?
