A new CNN/ORC International poll released on Monday ndicated that nearly 75% of Americans believe that the Republicans in Congress don't deserve re-election in the 2014 midterm elections.

The national poll, conducted "just after the end of the 16-day partial federal government shutdown," also indicated that Democrats hold an 8-point advantage over Republicans in the 2014 midterm elections.

Fifty-six percent of Americans also believe that the GOP's policies are too extreme, up eight points since March, while 52% of Americans believe that the GOP was more responsible for the government shutdown, compared to 34% putting the blame on President Obama.
