AEG Live Declared Not Guilty In Michael Jackson Lawsuit

On Wednesday, a Los Angeles jury delivered their verdict that although AEG Live hired Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray, the company should not be held responsible for Jackson’s drug overdose and death.
"AEG would have never agreed to finance this tour if they knew Mr. Jackson was playing Russian roulette in his bedroom every night," said defense attorney Marvin Putnam in his closing argument, according to the Associated Press.
The negative ruling in the case will save AEG Live over a billion dollars—as the Jackson family was asking for $290 million in personal damages and $1 billion in economic damages.
“"We lost one of the world’s greatest musical geniuses, but I am relieved and deeply grateful that the jury recognized that neither I, nor anyone else at AEG Live, played any part in Michael’s tragic death,” said AEG executive Randy Phillips in a statement.
