7 Pumpkin Brews For A Wicked Halloween

With Halloween on the horizon, hundreds of breweries have been distributing palettes of seasonal beers for months in an attempt to cash in on the beloved party holiday.

Grocers, beer stores and other fine establishments are stocked with an assortment of pumpkin ales, fall ciders and vampire-inspired beverages.

But few are worth buying.

That's why we've crafted this list of the top seven Halloween brews worthy of your time, money and calories. Not all are create equal. We focused only on pumpkin brews, which is why Samuel Adams' Octoberfest - even with its 83 BeerAdvocate rating - failed to make the list. 

Brews that were almost impossible to get ahold of, as was the case for Southern Tier's Pumking, did not make the list. Condolences to the equally-as-impossible to find (but highly rated) Chatoe Rogue Pumpkin Patch Ale as well.

Just be glad that you were saved the displeasure of purchasing Hermitage's syrupy, over-carbonated Fruit Crate Pumpkin Ale or Uinta's bland and grainy take on the festive brew.
