Quirky outfits, pop culture references, the “jar” can only mean one thing-- “New Girl” is back! Here is a brief recap in case you forgot what happened at the end of last season.

When Season 2 of “New Girl” concluded last Spring, audiences were left fairly satisfied. The episode “Elaine’s Big Day” revolved around CeCe’s arranged marriage and was hyped up due to the 30 second Taylor Swift cameo. CeCe (Hannah Simone) did not end up going through with the marriage, hence her ex-fiance then running off with Elaine (Swift). Schmidt (Max Greenfield) was left having to decide between now single Cece and his on-again flame Elizabeth. She was his ex-girlfriend from college who re-appears when Schmidt wanted to find his old self, or rather the “fat Schmidt.” Audiences should be weary of this love triangle, says Greenfield.

Not to mention Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel) finally entering into a “relationship,” which the entire season led up to. However, as Deschanel has said, we don’t know if it’s a relationship, but they’re certainly together in some way. Both went back-and-forth over whether or not to be together during the last few episodes (for lack of Nick having a job, not feeling good enough, etc.). In the finale, Nick and Jess are seen leaving in a car together and seemingly proceed to argue.

Lastly is the most underrated character, Winston (Lamorne Morris). He has not had a stable relationship since breaking up with Shelby in the middle of last season. He was also attacked by a badger in the last episode so he might have a fear of them from now on.

Promos for this week include a storyline where the gang apparently ends up in Mexico. From what we can gather, someone ends up arrested (presumably Nick) and the gang is in charge of rescuing him. We cannot wait for the premiere, and also for the rest of the season.

What's next? 7 predictions for Season 3:

1. Turbulence between Nick and Jess. Because the couple finally got together, it is inevitable for something to come between the couple. Could it be a secret love child from Nick’s former girlfriend, Caroline? Or maybe Jess will be uneasy with Nick’s lack of future plans?

2. Schmidt’s decision on which woman to choose-- will he try and balance both? It’s a very “Schmidt” thing to do. Perhaps, he may choose neither. But if we know Schmidt, he will take the easy way out and not be in a committed relationship with CeCe for a very long time.

3. Winston may have some competition now that Coach (who was from the pilot episode) is back on the show. We can only imagine the dialogue between these two competing for a spot in the loft, as well as attention of their friends.

4. Last season we learned Cece’s biological clock is ticking. This means she must have a baby very, very soon (which is why she was going to have an arranged marriage). But could there be another option of adoption this season?

5. If Nick and Jess do work out (or even if they don’t), you can expect Rob Reiner to make an appearance and presumably make Nick’s life miserable. Or, perhaps, could they bond over the fact that they’re virtually the same person?

6. Nick’s future business endeavors are also fairly uncertain. Will his work-in-progress zombie novel be a hit? Will he trade his job at the bar for a more professional setting?

7. Of course, we predict this season will be filled with laughs (presumably many compliments of Schmidt), Jess’s glittery crafts and struggles in the character’s love lives.
