Let's face it: the end of awards season makes us all a little bit red-carpet-deprived. Fortunately, the Primetime Emmy Awards comes to the rescue when we most need it, presenting us with some seriously jaw-dropping gowns and enviable accessories.

Before the annual show airs on Sunday, September 22, Neon Tommy looks back on a roundup of the best dressed TV stars on the red carpet.

Sarah Jessica Parker (2003)

Leave it up to Carrie Bradshaw to spice up the red carpet with memorable fashion choices. The Best Actress nominee for 'Sex and the City' lived up to her reputation with a cotton-candy-inspired pink Chanel Couture gown, accessorized with her signature bright and beautiful smile and sexy, delicate jewelry.

Halle Berry (2005)

Nominated for her role in the mini series 'Their Eyes Were Watching God', the fit and fearless actress looked refreshing in a stunning, graceful blue strapless gown. Berry paired her Emanuel Ungaro dress with a chunky silver bangle and classic oversized hoops. The asymmetrical lining and layers of varying shades of blue showcased her curves and glowing, tanned skin.

Kate Walsh (2009)

The 41-year-old "Private Practice" actress dressed to kill in a strapless J. Mendel dress, which was simple and elegant. The beautiful draping and cutouts on the side added dimension and sexiness, complimenting her slim and toned figure. Louis Vuitton shoes, an Aldo clutch, and jewels from the Stephen Russell Contemporary Collection completed the glamorous look.

Olivia Wilde (2009)

There's a reason why the 'House' actress's 2009 Emmys look landed almost every "Best Dressed" list. She was (and still is) the epitome of hot with her embroidered, one-shouldered asymmetrical Marchesa gown with cut-out detailing that revealed just the right amount of skin. The sheer netting over the bare back, along with a full skirt with dreamy layers made it perfectly award- show-appropriate, and she couldn't go wrong with Kwiat jewels and Jimmy Choos.

Drew Barrymore (2009)

Barrymore was a vision in her strapless blush-colored Monique Lhuillier gown with glamorous tulle details down the length of the dress. Up for her role in 'Grey Gardens', the Hollywood sweetheart played up her doll-like features with Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie pearls, Casadei pumps, and a Raven Kauffman clutch.

January Jones (2009)

Jones looked modern and chic in her geometric, pale pink Atelier Versace art deco gown, Neil Lane diamonds, Jimmy Choos, and clean, swept-back hair. The 'Mad Men' star steered away from a traditional, conservative look, and definitely nailed it.

Nina Dobrev (2011)

She was the hot topic of 2011 television with her wildly popular series, 'Vampire Diaries', and looked the part with a stunning custom red Donna Karan dress, paired with Neil Lane jewels, Judith Leiber clutch, and Brian Atwood peep-toe heels. By then, Dobrev had attended only a handful of high-profile events in her career, but she stood her own among red-carpet pros with her sexy curve-hugging dress, even out-dressing awards show veterans like Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Winslet. Her body also looked amazing, and we all know by now that Dobrev knows how to wear a dress.

Deschanel (2012) (Pinterest)

Zooey Deschanel (2012)

The sweet and quirky 'New Girl' star chose a custom pale sky blue Reem Acra gown, and she looked like a goddess from a fairy tale. Following her personal tradition of having noteworthy nails, Deschanel rocked television nail art by putting tiny TV's to accent her nails. Her simple, ethereal look was a perfect addition to that year's numerous bet-dressed lists.
