Several news sources are reporting that some restaurants in Boston are staying open despite the citywide lockdown to serve law enforcement and medical personnel while the manhunt for Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev continues.

Buzzfeed's Jessica Misener reports that select Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in the Boston area have been kept open to serve police officers on patrol. Dunkin' Donuts sent a statement to Buzzfeed saying that the outlets have remained open "at the direction of authorities," and everything is free of charge.

In addition, local food blog Grub Street Boston reports that three restaurants are offering free dinners for two to all medical personnel in the area. Over the next three weekends, restaurant owner Chris Himmel is offering three-course meals on the house to medics who bring their hospital IDs.

"…we are strengthened by the skill and compassion exhibited by Boston's world class hospitals," wrote Himmel. "They are among the countless heroes who not only save lives but help us all heal as a community."

The first restaurant offering a free meal this weekend is Post 390, which earned praise from Zagat for its "snappy lobster schnitzel."
