Twitter Targeted By Hackers

Twitter said in a blog post on Friday it detected attempts to gain access to its user data earlier in the week, AP reports. They believe some unidentified hackers gained access to usernames, e-mail addresses, encrypted passwords and session tokens.
"As a precautionary security measure, we have reset passwords and revoked session tokens for these accounts," wrote Twitter’s director of information security, Bob Lord. The post also recommended users practice "good password hygiene" by changing their passwords and encouraging some of their 200 million active users to not use the same password across multiple sites.
Twitter's revelation follows disclosure from media giants, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times that Chinese hackers had infiltrated their computers in sustained cyber attacks.
