Chef Ludo Lefebvre has just released information for the tenth, and possibly final, stop of his pop-up restaurant, LudoBites.
The touring restaurant has no permanent address, phone number or menu. Instead, Lefebvre takes his innovative menu to venues that typically do not serve dinner for a few weeks before moving on to a new location.
Lefebvre’s wife and business partner Krissy Lefebvre said the final pop-up will be a “Best of celebration.” She told Eater, “This is really a celebration of what LudoBites has meant to us and acknowledging our fans by bringing back some of the favorites from the past (minus foie gras of course).”
This time around LudoBites will find a home in Downtown L.A. restaurant, Gram & Papa’s, weeknights 12/4 to 12/21.
To respond to extremely high demands, reservations for the restaurant will be made for a lottery system starting next Wednesday.
For those unable to snag a pair of popular tickets and willing to try their luck, two-person tables will be available for walk-ins, if weather permits.
Lefebvre already has his plate full with his own food truck, cookbook, television series and plans for a new restaurant. It is therefore understandable that he is now taking time out from the pop-up business model that gave him notoriety and putting his efforts and attention elsewhere.
Chef Ludo Lefebvre's unique style and attitude toward fine dining has brought the Frenchman fame in the states and has made him quite the culinary sensation.
Tickets to LudoBites have been notoriously difficult to get. All six weeks of LudoBites 007 were booked in under a minute and LudoBites 8 had 10,000 requests for only 526 reservation slots.
All the hype surrounding him may seem surprising, but according to top critics and fans alike the buzz is well deserved.
He has been critically acclaimed by many respected sources. In 2010 He won Eater’s restaurant of the year (LA), chef of the year (LA) and concept of the year. Time magazine called him “chef of the future” and Pulitzer Prize winning LA Weekly food critic Jonathan Gold has named a LudoBites dish a “Top 10 Dish of the Year” on three separate occasions.
Unlike most restaurants, LudoBites has an innovative spirit that truly surprises its customers each time Lefebvre is in town. He combines unique flavors and is constantly bringing something brand new to the table.
Customer’s fighting their way into the door don’t always know just what they are getting themselves into, but that is part of the excitement. Eating at LudoBites has become more than just a novelty or trend, it has become a coveted experience. Lefebvre has built up a good rapport with his fans that now trust that whatever he serves up will be spectacular.
Even though next months LudoBites may be his last, it is safe to say that Lefebvre will continue to dazzle customers in the years to come. His popularity continues to grow and his fans are hungry for more.
