With Halloween just around the corner, the recently opened Dylan’s Candy Bar provides the perfect solution for any sweet craving.

On Aug. 21, Dylan’s Candy Bar launched its first West Coast location at The Original Farmer’s Market in Los Angeles, next door to The Grove. The colorful confectionary, which is renowned for its grandiose variety of chocolates and candies, includes more than 7,000 sweets and other merchandise.

Upon entering Dylan’s Candy Bar, customers will immediately feel as if they were transported to a Wonka-esque land. Brightly colored, larger-than-life plastic lollipops stretch up to the ceilings and the entire store is bathed in bright colors. The store includes a variety of sections, making merchandise easy to find.

Dylan Lauren, the daughter of fashion designer Ralph Lauren, opened the candy emporium’s first location in New York City in 2001. Since then, the NYC store has expanded. It is now the world’s largest candy store. The other store locations can also be found in East Hampton, Houston and soon enough in Miami (coming this November).

With confectionary creations ranging from Belgian chocolate bars and other bulk chocolates to gummy worms and Pixy Stix, the Clodhoppers are the best-selling product at Dylan’s.

“Clodhoppers are graham cracker pieces covered in chocolate and they’re all broken up into clumps,” explains Jim Broutman, personal shopper and the L.A. store’s event planner. “(Also popular are) the gummy bears. Our newest most popular item is our bark. (They) started about a month ago and there’s seven different flavors. Dylan actually developed them herself and they literally fly off the shelves.”

The confectionary also offers special treats for Halloween. Some of seasonal Halloween treats include lollipops in the shapes of body parts, candy ring pops and candy bars featuring characters from the Hotel Transylvania movie.

“We have a whole Halloween section,” says Broutman. “A lot of it (the items) are Dylan’s products; a lot is regular candy … the Halloween lollipops are really popular. The Grove and Farmer’s Market have fall festivals so we’re participating in their events; we’ll probably be doing an arts and crafts table—decorating Halloween themed lollipops—and passing out candy.”

While many customers flock to Dylan’s for the confectionary’s sweet treats, Broutman points out that the store sells much more than candy.

“What a lot of people don’t realize is we don’t just have candy; we have a lot of non-candy items,” Broutman says. “We have candy notebooks, iPhone covers, headsets, earphones, party supplies, T-shirts, towels and pillows … one of our most popular sections is the mustache section because everything’s about mustaches right now.”

Ever since its L.A. location launched, Broutman says that customer feedback to the newest Dylan’s store has been extremely positive.

“It’s amazing,” he says. “People are so excited that we’re here. Everyone knows the store in New York so they’re just so happy that we’re here. We’re the most crowded during the weekends.”

The Brownie Batter Chocolate Bar is not overly sweet, due to the Belgian dark chocolate, but features a fudge-like consistency that's reminiscent of chewy, fudge brownies. It's sure to be a chocolate explosion in your mouth.

Dylan’s Candy Bar is currently having a sale on a variety of its chocolate bars for a limited time only. Customers can receive up to 50 percent off on some of the items in the confectionary’s chocolate collection. Some of the featured chocolate bars that are on sale include flavors like Angel Food Cake, Red Velvet Cake, Banana Cream Pie and Brownie Batter (all $2.95 each or four for $10).
