Surely star couple Khlo and Lam Lam have die-hard fans somewhere, and wherever they were on Sunday night, they definitely made sure their TV was programmed and ready to deliver the most recent episode of "Khloe and Lamar." After weeks of watching, from season previews to the ominous “next time on Khloe and Lamar,” we finally – finally – see our favorite ex-Laker traded.

The NBA lockout is long gone (as are, we hope to God, Lamar’s sporadic gaming activity and childish insomnia), but stress continues to grow for this usually happy-go-lucky couple. It’s negotiation time for Lamar, the ultimate test of the strength of his and Khloe’s seemingly unbreakable bond.

“This stuff is more stressful than not playing basketball,” says Odom, regarding trade talks. When his agent notifies him that he could be traded at any time, it finally hits Khloe that this could mean instant relocation with little to no warning. Wait, the NBA trades players? And Lamar’s trade could mean you have to actually leave Los Angeles? Like, live in another state? And no one ever told you this?! Rude.

Some credit is due to Khloe, however, as she and Lamar undergo this potential lifestyle change while their marriage is still relatively young. Although compared to sister Kim’s infamous 72-day “marriage” to Kris Humphries, we wouldn’t be surprised if Khlo and Lammy celebrated their golden anniversary within the next day or so. 

While Khloe flies to NYC for (cough) work purposes (cough), she gets the call: Lamar has been traded to the New Orleans Hornets. Okay, first of all: Kardashians clearly have a thing for athletes based in New Orleans (cue ex-Saint, ex-USC football player, and ex-Heisman recipient, Reggie Bush). Second of all: the trade was cancelled in a blink of an eye. What?

After catching up with Lamar’s agent, Khloe learns that while the initial trade to New Orleans is off, a trade will happen no matter what. It’s simply a matter of where. Talk about a stress case.

Lamar calls Khloe and breaks the news: it’s gonna be the Dallas Mavericks! Of course, viewers have known this since a) it actually occurred in real life, and b) “Khloe and Lamar” season previews clearly depicted Mavs jerseys and occasional soundbites including the word “Dallas.”

Admittedly, this episode included some real emotion. The Lakers life is a tough one to leave, but Lamar confessed he didn’t want to be a part of a team that didn’t want him. His sensitive side beams like none other here, and Khloe clearly feels for him. 

To be completely honest, it’s a moment like this that shows the couple’s sincere love. The fact that they can’t be together when all this crazy news is broken makes the situation even more difficult to bear. For the record, describing the honesty of a reality TV romance actually makes me quite queasy. Ah well. Khloe and Lamar are just too lovable.

On any TV show following any of the Kardashians? Never.) Khlo stays strong, though, as we could’ve guessed based on her admirable thick-skinned personality. 

Knowing her Kardashian blood, Khlo will undoubtedly never truly leave Los Angeles – at least for now. The tight-knit family would never allow it. Still, her new Texan digs will technically serve as her permanent residence, but she’s taking it in stride. Her plan in these trying times? “Fake it ‘til we make it.”
