Once just a Material Girl, ultimate pop icon Madonna is now taking another step towards a total fashion takeover. That’s right; she is designing a shoe line. Come this fall, you can actually walk a mile in Madonna’s shoes.

The line is comprised of 60 different designs, ranging from reasonable flats to show-stopping over-the-knee boots, and will be sold under the name “Truth or Dare”, the same name of her perfume debuting at Macy’s in April.

Arianne Phillips, Madonna’s stylist and Oscar-nominated costume designer for W.E. will serve as creative consultant to the line to keep everything in Vogue.

“Her fingerprints are really on this brand. The first thing I did was remind her of all the shoes she wore over the years, and we took the styles we can’t live without,” said Phillips.

Madonna has certainly not treaded lightly in the shoe department since coming into fame in the 1980s, being known for edgy, sometimes downright odd footwear selections. Who could forget these killer Chanel heels she sported in 2008?

“Truth or Dare” might be a little less lethal, though, drawing influence from dance. The shoes, gilded in reminiscence of her Super Bowl halftime show, will be adorned with cap toes and studs to keep that “provocateur quality” and “feminine perspective” Phillips says she so embodies.

Madge has already taken the teen demographic by storm with her “Material Girl” line co-headed by her fashion-maven-in-the-making daughter Lourdes. Just Like a Prayer to those tired of shopping in Macy's junior's section to get at Madonna's signature style, “Truth or Dare” is directed towards an older style scene, namely those between 27 and 50.

The collection will be sold at Macy’s, Nordstrom and Asos.com, among others, ranging from $89 to $350. Quite a price tag for a pair of shoes, but what less could be expected from the women who inspired these couture creations?

The collection is not expected to hit shelves until fall/winter 2012, which gives Madonna plenty of time to work on the future extensions of the “Truth or Dare” label, an intimates line later this year, and additional accessories and legwear for 2013. Because, let’s face it, who doesn’t need some leg warmers by Madonna?

Just a taste of the trend to come, check out three of the styles from “Truth or Dare” below!
