LA Fashion Week: Project Ethos' Stunning Fusion Of Fashion, Music, Art

Project Ethos featured ten outstanding designers at its dynamic show. (Project Ethos)
The doors of Avalon Hollywood opened early for an invite-only meet and greet for participants and industry guests including Women’s Wear Daily, Racked LA, Yahoo News, and NBC.
The insiders' mixer took place in a roomful of live art installations, such as intriguing sculptures and paintings with mixed medium from LabArt Gallery’s Sand-One, Jules Muck and CYRCLE. To add to the atmosphere, Sweets & Treats Inc. provided a colorful display of scrumptious cake pops, cotton candy, and chocolate dipped marshmallows.

Luis Mendoza & Yesica Medina's LUICA showcased a diverse range of silhouettes and colors, ranging from blacks and whites to pinks and purples. The line also included looks for both women and men.
Ermelinda Manos' namesake line displayed many variations of black, as she used many different fabrics and textures to create different personas using the timeless color. She used sequins, feathers and sheer fabrics, to name a few, to create an elegant and multifaceted collection.
Janean Johnson's JaJo Couture featured a classic and very tasteful combination of reds and blacks, as it played with different silhouettes.
Boditecture by Wen Guo got quite a reaction from the crowd, as each ingeniously designed piece converted into something unexpected and different from what the model walked out wearing. With each style transformation, the crowd gasped and clapped as the models pulled off the outfit conversions seamlessly and with grace.

Next, Danielle Pettee's Danielle the Dress Maker line took a Spring-like approach, with lighter colored pieces and floral prints as well as pastels.
Then, the LA-based musical group Hyper Crush performed, showcasing their eletro pop vocals and dance music. The trio's energetic performance and funky fashion, including neon orange sneakers and a colorful braid added to the novel atmosphere.
To start the second runway show, a young hip hop dancer got the crowd pumped for Melissa Velia's namesake collection. The skirts and dresses came in varying lengths and colors, and her prints were fun and playful.
Edita Bandaryan's Edita Collection featured a line of monochromatic formal looks. The solid colors really made the models' silhouettes stand out, and it was quite a cohesive line.

Catherine Furio's Furio Apparel used bold colors and interesting patterns to create an intriguing and very creative collection. The models walked to the perfectly complementary beat of electronic dance music, which DJ Robb Rockwell spun all night. In fact, Skrillex seemed to be the artist of choice for many of the designers, as well as Calvin Harris.
To end the show, the GLAUDI by Johana Hernandez line combined brightly colored sparkle, bold colors and black patterns to create a stunning line of mainly mini and maxi dresses. It was truly a beautiful collection, and was a great way to end the runway segment of the night.
