Barney’s New York hosted the launch of designer Christian Louboutin’s self-titled book on the first of this month. The soireé had a guest list containing famous friends and fanatics such as Calvin Klein, Lea Michele, Alicia Keys, Blake Lively and Swizz Beatz.

Red soles adorned the feet of models and socialites alike as guests gathered when he settled in a plush armchair to hand out signed copies of the much anticipated book. 

The work is nonfiction, and goes deep into the art behind Louboutin’s eccentric and unique designs. It presents “a very personal look at the man behind the shoes.” One of fashions modern day pioneers, Louboutin has made a place for himself in the world of couture fashion, and the book uses picture and prose to document his over 20 years of design. It includes personal photos, as well as contributions from some of his most cherished clients.  

The night was one of jokes and celebration as R&B singer Tyrese Gibson joked, “My girlfriend forces me to buy her your shoes!” 

The book is now available for retail purchase online at Amazon.com as well as Overstock.com, as well as in most retail bookstores.
